Anaïs Wu, a member of the Pelican team, is taking part in the Circuit bleu Charles-Bruneau for the third time this year. Her commitment is motivated by a cause close to her heart: curing children with cancer in Quebec.
During her first participation in 2022, Anaïs had to drop out near the end. This event strengthened her determination to come back with a vengeance. For her, every child deserves to have the childhood they want, and she hopes that one day, cancer will be just a bad memory.
Anaïs is also working hard to motivate her colleagues to join the adventure. She sees the Blue Circuit as an opportunity to strengthen team bonds while supporting a noble cause. “Meeting the families and hearing about their journey is very touching; every dollar raised makes a difference,” she explains.
This year, she is preparing for the 13 km Petit bleu in duo with her colleague (and newly retired 2024) André Savoie. Her spinning training has helped her get back into shape and transformed her mindset. She even organized a fund-raising spinning session, raising $938 for the Charles-Bruneau Foundation.
Knowing that Pelican supports her initiative is a great source of motivation for Anaïs. “It's very motivating to know that my employer is behind me,” she confides. This involvement not only strengthens her commitment, but also the bonds with her colleagues, whom she has come to know better over the years.
She concludes by thanking the families who share their stories, reminding us all of the importance of continuing to mobilize for a childhood without cancer.
