Where do donations go?
By participating in the Circuit bleu Charles-Bruneau, you will contribute directly to efforts to ensure that the 2,000 Quebec children diagnosed with cancer every year enjoy a healthy future. Your contributions make a huge difference. Consider that, since 1980, the recovery rate for leukemia, the most common type of cancer, has risen from 35% to close to 85%. Promising advances in research and development are currently guiding researchers towards a pair of objectives: Curing the 20% of children whose cancer is resistant to treatment, and improving the quality of life of children in remission so that they can enjoy a true cure, free of side-effects and complications, a reality that, to this day, remains elusive.
Are participants required to supply their own equipment?
You can use your own equipment, but if you don’t have any, we will be happy to lend you what you need (you must mention it when you register).
Are preparatory outings planned in order to gauge my level of fitness and my paddling abilities?
Preparatory outings are planned for participants of Le Classique. You will receive all the details via email.
Do I need to bring lunches and snacks?
Registration fees for Le Classique include breakfast, lunch, snacks, water, plus the arrival cocktail. For Le Petit bleu, fees include lunch, snacks, water and the arrival cocktail.
Is it possible to participate in a craft other than a kayak?
In order to facilitate the logistics of the event, only single and tandem kayaks are authorized in the “Le Classique” trek. However, Le Petit bleu welcomes other types of craft, including paddleboards or sit-on kayaks.
What happens if I don’t raise the minimum donation amount required?
To take part in this event, participants must raise the minimum amount required. We will be glad to support your efforts to raise funds and provide you with tools that will help you meet your objective.
What is the minimum age to participate?
Due to the nature of our activity and because the safety of participants is our priority, we have established strict qualification criteria. To participate, a person must be at least 16 years old prior to the event. For participation in the Petit bleu, individuals who are 14 or 15 years old prior to the event may participate, provided they share a double kayak with an adult. However, each participant in the double kayak will have to do their own fundraising.
